August will always be Nina Renee’s month for me. She was born August 9, 1956, in Tokyo, Japan; she died last August, here in Bellingham, Washington. This is the first anniversary of her death, and I want to mark it with two photos of her that I love and would like to preserve here. The first was taken soon after she moved here to Bellingham. The second was taken at her wedding to Mike Schway in 2004, a joyful, joyful event. I bless the day he became part of our family.

Rest in peace, my sweet Renee. I’m so grateful you came into my life. I treasure every moment life allowed us. My memories of you give me joy, are with me even though you are gone. Thank you sweetheart.
